Got Questions? We've Got Answers.

How many coats of paint are included?

PhD Painting recommends at least 2 coats of paint when changing colors or painting new surfaces. Depending on the existing color, a third coat or a coat of primer might be required. The number of paint coats is always included in your estimate.

Can you provide HOA or condo association documentation?

PhD Painting is fully licensed, bonded and insured (Licenses U-22135 & 16-PU-20541-R). Certificates naming the HOA/condo association as additional insured can be provided upon request.

How long is your warranty?

All of our services come with a 2 year warranty. If any issues arise you can rest assured we will address them fairly and in a timely manner.

How often should I paint my home's exterior in South Florida?

In South Florida you can expect your exterior paint to last between 7–10 years when surfaces are properly prepared and high-quality materials are used. Color selection also plays an important role. PhD Painting can assist in recommending the best colors to ensure durability.

Will my furniture and surfaces be protected?

At PhD Painting, proper preparation is of utmost importance. We will always cover your furniture and any other surfaces needed before starting your painting project.

Will I have access to my kitchen during a cabinet refinishing project?

On average, cabinet refinishing projects take about a week to complete. During the first 2–3 days you will NOT have access to your kitchen, as everything will be masked (covered) in preparation for painting. After those 2–3 days, you will have access to your kitchen while we are working on your drawers and doors at the shop.

Do I need to empty my cabinets before cabinet refinishing starts?

All doors and drawer fronts will be removed and openings will be masked in preparation for painting. Everything can remain inside the cabinets since it is covered. With exception of cabinets with glass doors that also need to be painted inside.

What should I do in preparation for an interior painting project?

The only preparation needed on your end is to remove any personal items (i.e. clothes when painting closets), fragile items or art work. PhD Painting will take care of moving and protecting all furniture/surfaces prior to painting.

What should I do in preparation for an exterior painting project?

If association approval is required for paint color, please acquire approval prior to project commencement. In addition, if there are any trees or bushes touching the walls, please have them trimmed back at least 6 inches away prior to your project start date.

Is paint included in the estimate?

PhD Painting always includes all materials needed for your project in your estimate (unless otherwise specified). We get discounted prices from suppliers and pass the savings along to our customers.

Do you offer eco-friendly paint options?

Yes! Eco-friendly paints that are 100% Zero VOC, non-toxic, and odorless are available — ideal for families with children, pets, or sensitivities.
